When LeBron was born, his mother, Gloria James, was only 16 years old and his biological father, Anthony McClelland, he dissociated himself from his son since hisbirth. Gloria took him out on my own and without assistance, since her mother died when LeBron was just a baby. This situation accentuated the difficulties of a family that lived in a constant struggle to stay. Gloria could not find steady work and they went from floor to floor continuously, and met all the seedy neighborhoods of Akron, a city of more than 200,000 inhabitants, situated less than an hour south of Cleveland. Despite circumstances, Gloria worked hard to be a good parent and protect her son LeBron poverty and violence of the streets. However this was no easy task. When LeBron was two and Gloria started dating Eddie Jackson, the problems started. In 1990, Eddie went to prison for cocaine trafficking. However, Lebron established ties with Jackson, and Gloria liked his son could see in him a father figure. Her brothers, Terry and Curt, also helped in difficult situations. From an early age, LeBron showed tremendous instincts for basketball. LeBron spent much time playing with a hoop and a ball that he gave his mother Gloria. Lebron also enjoyed very good genetics. Although his mother only measured 1.65 meters tall, had relatives who were much higher. The nomadic life he had led with her mother could have prevented LeBron friends. When he went to school, had trouble making friends easily because he was ashamed of the family life he had led. Began to find in basketball and football an outlet to show their emotions. LeBron was an excellent athlete, fast and strong by nature. Both began to have a future in basketball and in football. On the basketball court was reflected Michael Jordan could become the great successor of it, but Penny Hardaway and Jason Kidd were also two of their favorite players. In football, Lebron played as a receiver. Signed 19 touchdowns in six games in his first year of Pee Wee (age category in football). His coach was Frankie Walker, one of the men who have had more influence in the life of James. At the end of the season, Walker realized that LeBron was neglecting school and his academic training was very important to Walker. Gloria Walker recommended that the boy needed a more stable environment. Both agreed that LeBron move in with Walker and his family. He lived with Frank himself, his wife Pam, and their three children, Chanelle, Frankie Jr. and Tanesha. LeBron started to take seriously their attendance at school and was awarded by the school. Living with this family was instrumental in the transition from child to teenager James. The day that changed his life forever LeBron James was in the fall of 1994.That afternoon, Frank Walker put a basketball in your child's hands at that time was 9 years old. Walker spent much time teaching the young about the sport in the next three years. After 18 months apart, Gloria James was back with her. But when the economic problems turned, came back with the Walker family, who helped Gloria to pay the rent. Walker and his wife wanted to ensure that James always had a place in Akron that I could call home. For LeBron another advantage of living with Walker was the friendship he had with Frankie Jr. The two formed with four other guys ( Sian Cotton, Dru Joyce III, Willie McGee and Romeo Travis) an enviable team. On Saturday night, gathered at the Jewish Community Center of Akron, where Drambot Keith, former coach of Central Michigan University, checking his skills. LeBron and Dru, the core of the team, became intimate friends. In fact, when James was 12 years old spent much of the summer living with the family of Joyce. Indeed, the second step in training was meeting James Dru Joyce II, who coached the youth in the amateur national championship at age 14. Joyce II became the mentor of James, and his coach since then. Dru Joyce II and Lebron Walker stressed the importance of completing their education, and kept away from all the glamor during his years in St. Vincent - St. Mary High School. LeBron stood above the rest of the team . I was at the height 1.83 in eighth grade, he could play all five positions and demonstrated to have a sixth sense for the game. They called themselves the "Ohio Shooting Stars." In 1997, LeBron made his appearance on the national scene after qualifying for the National Championship SVA for 6th grade children.
